Made to Order

Thoughtfully made hardwood products, crafted to suit your space .

Alongside my shop products I also offer small-scale furniture and hardwood pieces made to order, built from solid English timber and designed to last.

Commissions can be completely bespoke or a variation of an existing design - whether that’s adjusting dimensions, timber choice, detailing or overall form. I’m open to new ideas and enjoy working collaboratively to develop something that suits both the space and the brief.

All pieces are made in solid hardwood with careful attention to proportion, joinery and finish.

All work is designed and made in my Buckinghamshire workshop.

Typical lead time is around 4-6 weeks, depending on the scale of the project and current workload.

If you have something in mind, feel free to get in touch, I'd love to hear it - see the contact form below :)

Example Commission Orders

European Oak Stool

A simple, solid European oak stool, dowel-jointed and built properly from start to finish. The construction is honest and straightforward, with visible joinery that reflects traditional methods rather than shortcuts.

The shape is clean but slightly different from the usual — subtle changes in proportion give it presence without making it feel showy. It’s easy to place in a room, whether beside a sofa, at the end of a bed, or used as a compact side table.

Strong, versatile and made to last, it’s the kind of piece that quietly earns its place over time.

Reclaimed English Elm Lamp (Pair)

A pair of lamps made from reclaimed English elm, chosen for its depth of grain, warmth and natural character. The timber carries old woodworm markings and surface history - traces of its past that have been carefully preserved rather than removed.

Each piece has been thoroughly stabilised and is completely sound, while still retaining the texture and irregularities that give it authenticity. No two are exactly alike; each lamp has its own balance of tone, grain and marking.

They feel grounded and substantial, with real story behind them - solid timber with genuine age and history, now restored and built into a functional piece for modern interiors.

English Oak Chair Set

This piece began worn, weathered, and structurally failing - a well-used oak bench that had been left to deteriorate over time. Rather than replace it, the aim was to restore and respect what was already there.

The original design was carefully studied and retained, with new panels crafted from solid English oak to match the character and proportions of the existing piece. Each component was rebuilt with longevity in mind, using traditional methods to ensure strength without compromising the original aesthetic.

The result is a bench that feels true to its origins - ready to be used and appreciated for many years to come.

Solid Black Walnut Side Table

Crafted from rich-grained black walnut, this side table is a prime example of natural material and functional design working together beautifully. The flowing grain across the top has been carefully selected and oriented to highlight the depth, warmth, and character unique to walnut.

Designed to sit within a confined living space, the form is intentionally simple - allowing the material to take centre stage. Subtle detailing, softened edges, and balanced proportions give the piece a refined presence without overpowering its surroundings.

Beneath the top, a lower shelf adds practical storage while maintaining a light, open structure. Each component has been thoughtfully shaped and assembled using traditional techniques to ensure long-term durability and structural integrity.

Finished by hand to enhance the natural tone and protect the timber, ensuring that this piece will age gracefully - developing even more character over time.

Built for a client who wanted a simple, solid side table that fit their space perfectly.

They absolutely love it - and it’s now part of their everyday setup at home.
